Packaging is Art

Zurich-based artists, Silvan Borer and Jenya Hitz, created much of Grace Chocolate's bespoke packaging art illustrations. Enjoy more of their work at https://silvanborer.com and https://jenyahitz.com.

Grace Chocolate described to Silvan and Jenya the desire to communicate through the chocolate company packaging a few tenets of the philanthropic arm of Grace Chocolate. The profits of Grace Chocolate support reaching, rescuing and helping restore once-forgotten trauma survivors, especially women and girls. The desire to encapsulate foundational principles of love, community and respect will work in tandem with the philanthropic work to enrich these Dear Ones' agency in their new lives.

An especially strong aim for the packaging is to communicate a sampling of role models, aspirations, and beauty to women and girls who are bombarded with competing goals of presenting themselves to the world in an overtly sexual mask, attaining expensive things and lifestyles, and being perceived as beautiful only when looking a very specific way that is similar to a those in media.

Here are a few examples of Silvan and Jenya's lovely yet strong interpretations of women and girls being seen and having a voice that is heard -- their own beautifully unique voice, strong and rooted in things that don't get easily washed away.

A selection of the transformation to packaging is also included.
